Andrew Blaize Bovasso is a mostly-lens-based, multimedia artist living somewhere in between Jersey City & New York City. Andrew uses media to produce documents that fuse personal subject matter with universally understood constructs, such as life/death, time, distance, multiplicity, emotional layers, and light/dark. He focuses on using the camera as a vehicle to connect holes in time and bind specific memories that could not resonate as they were occurring.

He has exhibited at such institutions as Photo Center Northwest, Seattle; The Phillips Collection, Washington DC; Jenkins Johnson Gallery, New York; Friedman Benda Gallery, New York; Spattered Columns, New York; Aljira Center for Contemporary Art, Newark, NJ; Midwest Center for Photography, Wichita; and Rabbitholestudio, Brooklyn. His book, Conversations with Dan McNulty in Jersey City was hand selected for induction into the indiePhotobook Library in Washington D.C.

After having been the staff photographer at Barry Friedman, Ltd. as well as working in art dealing, photography, & print/web design for the gallery, Barry decieded to close the flagship in the spring of 2014. Concurrently, Barry's sister gallery, Friedman Benda, and his partner, Marc Benda, and associates Jennifer Olshin and Thorsten Albertz were looking to open a new space for forward thinking artists. Barry selected Andrew to man the gallery as a start-up single handedly and build the framework for the gallery.  B2OA has since re-tooled and has been consolidated into what is now known as Albertz Benda, a sister gallery to Friedman Benda's strict design program, dealing solely in contemporary fine art.

Andrew's first fully organized exhibition at B2OA, RM FISCHER: LIFE FORCE had been very well recieved by the public as a fresh and inventive installation, and a new take for Chelsea, and garnered a positive review in The New York Times by Roberta Smith. Other exhibitions also organized by Bovasso at B2OA were the following - Outer Space / Out of Mind: Cullen Wahsington, Jr.; Suicide, Iggy, Asbach, et al.: Florian Sussmayr; and Conflicting Narratives: Series of Eternal War: Samira Abbassy.

He has since returned to work for Barry Friedman as he prepares to write and release a book about the myriad coveted art objects that have been through his hands as a dealer, highlighting the objects' personal journies.  He also works with neighboring galleries in Chelsea as a freelance fine art and installation photographer and freelance graphic designer.
